We parked at a 50 cents an hour parking garage building with very low ceiling headroom. I was just waiting for my roof to hit the cement beams but those people who built that of course knew how tall SUVs are. I’ve seen Ford Expeditions, Jeep Cherokee, Lexus, parked right there and they were alright.
We walked from the parking building to the Tesla showroom. They have on display a black Model X with open Falcon wings. I was thinking, how can this gull wings not hit the parking ceilings? Where would one safely park a Tesla? It’s definitely nice to ogle at but I personally think this design is not practical. But maybe those people that Tesla is targeting are for fancy and not for practicality. Being a car dealer myself, I know that buyers go for looks but at the same time, they want ease of use. Yes, some like it fancy, but they will complain if they experience the slightest of inconvenience. Vehicles with gull wings had some issues in the past like: doors not closing, doors are sagging because they’re too heavy, owners are not able to lift or close the door, and not to mention they would not fit in most public parking garages.

My brother in law is planning to buy the Model S, I think this one is more practical.
