Thank you Shirin - Oh My Buhay

from Shirin Eugenio to me

Dear Ms Annie,

Hello, I am Shirin Eugenio. I am recent reader of your blog, and it truly is a delightful find! I chanced upon it by accident – probably after Googling a restaurant, and the search generated a link to your family’s review of the resto. =)

The honesty in your musings and conversations with your family is refreshing and hilarious. I’m 32, and a teacher at UA&P for the School of Communication. I’m getting married very soon, but all your stories and issues about running a household while working already ring true to me since I have helped my mom run our homes too. (The maid and driver stories, oh! We can fill a book on that one too!) I love how you paint the picture of life as we know it so simply yet insightfully. =)

I hope you stay true to the unique voice in your head, which comes out so colorfully in your blog. We, your readers appreciate the authenticity in your voice.

I am also writing for two things that you raised in your blog:

1) Do you still need a website designer/manager? My fiance (who works in IT) knows how to fix kinks so if you need one, I can recommend him. I’m nanghinayang if your blog gets warped and loses its content.

2) I share your agony about needing presentable clothes and running out of them! And how expensive it is to maintain a wardrobe fit for work and social functions. I like dresses at Jessica too, but the prices can be discouraging talaga. May I be so bold to share a secret designer/dressmaker/mananahi? Haha.

I know you are an Amir Sali fan. But my suggestion is one of the best kept secrets of Makati. Her name is Ann Cuatico. Oh, she is a most delightful find too. She makes dresses for expat-wives and their families here, who live in Forbes and Dasma, and a few political families here and there. Minsan parang United Nations sa living room nya! =) She makes all sorts of dresses for all occasions (for work, for socials), and can repair anything! She is making my wedding gown and entourage dresses pa nga. Her home is her atelier, and it is always a lovely sanctuary for its secrecy and fashion magazines. Haha. Sobrang suki lang kami ng Mom ko, so I wanna recommend her to you din. =)

My email is so long na, kakahiya. But I really am amused by your blog. So I thought you wouldn’t mind that I’d share a few thoughts of my own. =)

Should I see you out and about with your family, I will not hesitate to say hello, as I am an admirer of your intelligence and honesty.

Have a great week ahead!

Hi Shirin,

Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed reading your comments.

Yes, I still do need a highly knowledgeable website programmer/designer, one who is well versed in wordpress, search engine optimization, etc.
Ecology is close to my work place. I will contact Ann Cuatico.
Advance congratulations to the bride-to-be. I am excited for you. May your love for each other last forever.
Pls feel free to say hello if you see me.

Thank you for reading oh my buhay.

With much appreciation,

Annie
