We fell in love with the location of the Estate in Yountville, California. High-end and full of high-end restaurants including the world popular Michelin-starred French Laundry ($500/plate hello!).
Villagio and The Estate belong to the same owners and they both have first class hotel and rooms. The advantage of holding the wedding at this property is convenience for the guests. Hotels, restaurants, walk to the shops, bars. We don’t have to worry about entertaining the guests, they will entertain themselves.
We looked at the rooms for the wedding guests majority of whom would be coming from Manila, New York, Ohio, etc.
The rooms are spacious and could fit 3 people.
The couch could accommodate one person.
The room decors in Villagio look more masculine. I caught the event manager looked at me and my tsinelas, looking bewildered. maybe for a split second she doubted if we could afford to stay here. The rates start from the $500s per night.
We walked to the outdoor garden possibly for a wedding ceremony.
Villagio has a 4000-square-foot Napa-chic style farmhouse. It looks small for 150 guests plus a dancing floor. Sliding walls open onto a cozy landscaped lawn and a private courtyard fronting a bar.
They have a charming 2,700-square-foot rustic barrel room with 36-foot beam and rafter ceiling, that can be utilized as either a reception or ceremony hall. This historic building was an
original 1870 Groezinger Winery.
Just beside the social hall is a small vineyard.
I had fun picking the dark-red grapes. Some were sweet and delicious, some parang datu puti sa asim.
In wintery March, there wouldn’t be any draping grapes like these. The vines would be brown, just twig-looking branches.
With a heavy heart, we dropped this from the list of prospective venues because it is in the city and doesn’t feel like we’re in Napa Valley.
