I have never seen such massive amounts of flowers and people just give them away. Giant roses, tulips, daffodils, magnolias, wisteria, and some varieties I don’t recognize but just as lovely.
The female security officer was standing in front of me she blocked my view and people who were giving away flowers also couldn’t see me. Others were luckier, they received not just a stem or two but a whole bouquet.
Switzerland is white as snow during winter and the minute a flower pops out in March signals that spring is coming. Winter is gloomy and sometimes people feel it would never end but when the colors sprout, it signals the start of spring. The annual spring festival says just that. Goodbye winter and welcome the colorful and lively spring.
