The Jollibee right beside the National Children’s Hospital was closed on August 8. The next outlet is in Puregold, along E. Rodriguez Ave.
There’s a combination of one spaghetti, one hamburger, one ice cream sundae, and softdrinks. I asked the sales lady if they have something without the ice cream.
Wala daw kasi daw combination yun. I argued why it would not be possible. Basta yun na daw yun. I stood there looking up at the board. Trying to figure out what good food I could bring to the children. After several minutes, the same sales lady said, “mam, meron kaming spaghetti, burger, and softdrinks”.
Huh, di ba that’s what I’ve been trying to tell her? Ang labo nya ha.
(She’s not the girl in this photo.)
Sales lady—– “Mam hindi daw ho kasya, kulang yung burger namin, dami nyong order”.
OMB———– “Ilan lang ang burger nyo?”
Sales lady—– “Kulang mam”.
OMB———— “Alam ko kulang, pero ilan lang ang meron kayo?’
Sales lady—– “Hindi kasya sa order nyo”.
My God, ang sarap namang itulak nitong babae na ito.
I spoke to her manager instead. I ordered whatever burger they have and the rest, hotdog na lang.
While waiting, I ordered my lunch. Lambot naman nitong tinidor, it bended when I tried to poke the chicken. Gusto ko matigas.
I left Jollibee, will just send the drivers back. I went ahead to the venue. I’ve seen the bumper to bumper traffic going to the hospital kaya I was agitated.
I talked to the guard at the gate of the National Children’s Hospital to let my people in. He was nervous on his new task. He didn’t know me from Adam and he asked me to go to the social services office first. I didn’t want to do that kasi I have to go inside the hospital’s main building, daming sick dun. And there would be more questions which I was tamad to deal with. My coordinator kasi was eating lunch kaya hindi mahagilap and she didn’t inform the guards that we’re having the Baptismal of Angels on that day at 2 pm.
The venue’s on the 6th floor. I was the first one to arrive which was good. I wanted to make sure everything is in order.
View from the 6th floor is nice.
We need a reception table. Bakit ito nakapatong on top of another table. Kaya ko yan buhatin.
I switched on the airconditioning units. Two were spewing hot air. Parang heater. I forced open the vents. Dyos ko, kaya naman pala. The alikabok was so thick the air couldn’t pass through anymore. I wanted to wash all the filters but madudumihan dress ko. I tried to scratch the dirt off one filter using a folded paper, wala kasi akong gamit. Just to create a space for air to pass through. Ang dumi-dumi talaga.
Filters must be cleaned regularly to save on electricity, prevent aircon malfunction, and to have cooler air.
Not a single soul was there. Medyo na praning ako, baka merong umakyat na mas praning pa sa akin eh pag-interesan ang katawan ko. I’ll survey the whole floor muna to make sure no one is hiding.
