I’ve been passing by this place in Tagaytay for a dozen years but never became curious to see what this place was all about. Someone told me before that it’s owned by a Korean. Mali naman pala.
I was half hour early for my meeting with the architect so pagdaan namin dito, I asked my driver to stop.
This is Tierra de Maria pala is a place of worship, established twenty years ago by a certain Brother Jigger who passed away a year ago. The place is now run by his widow and his children who live in Manila but come to Tierra Maria on weekends according to their caretaker.
Fr. Larry Faraon comes to Tierra de Maria on schedule to hold healing masses
There’s a big store at the entrance for religious items like prayer books, Holy Rosary, statues of saints, etc.
There were many vendors selling candies, dried fish, the iconic espasol, mani and dried tawilis.
There’s a tiny section on the right side near the fence for candle offerings.
I was the only who climbed all the way to the view deck. Meron pang fish spa.
It sits on a 1,000 square meter property with multi level concrete structure which used to be the owner’s house and later expanded.
He started working here during construction of the house, and he never left since.
The owner clearly was a devotee of the Virgin Mary. This giant cement plaster was constructed 14 years ago according to their staff.
I didn’t expect to see a stunning view of Taal Lake from the view deck. They don’t won the vacant property.
I was wondering how come I was the only person there and eh people come and go, saan kaya sila nagsusuot. Yun pala there’s a chapel on the ground floor. Kaya naman pala I was the only one on the top floor people just go to the ground floor. Tuloy tuloy ako sa taas kala ko kasi that’s where people go.
I forgot what I wished for, maybe the same thing, good health and safety for my family.
Tierra de Maria is located along the National Highway, from the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay Road, turn left going towards Tagaytay Highlands.
