Edmund was reading the newspaper in the sala while waiting for me. He was smiling and I knew what he wanted to say, inunahan ko na, may GPS ako. Baka maligaw ka sa bahay mo was what he said the last time I came home from a long stay in the US. When my daughter saw me, she asked if I needed a tour of our house.
My daughter was also teasing me about having some new items on the table she brought home from Hawaii. She thought I didn’t notice them. I told her I knew when someone touched or changed or disarranged my picture frames or decors on the table. I just know how I arrange things so when someone moves a tiny decor, or even my kalat, I could tell in one glance.
Aside from a welcome hug from Mister Yee, not to be outstaged, etong ipis na KSP eh nakahandusay sa gitna ng family dining area as if waiting for me. I was away for two months, ngayon pa this ipis timed his death on the morning of my arrival. Perfect welcome to remind me I am home.
Here it is in the flesh, the 65″ enormous television that would surely crush any possibility of a romantic night or a sound sleep.
ALWAYS KISS ME GOODNIGHT no longer exists in this bedroom. I might as well replace this with ALWAYS SWITCH ME OFF AT NIGHT!!!!
I called for a two hour body massage, yes two hours. I fell asleep while waiting for the masseuse and they didn’t want to wake me up. Instead of starting at 1 pm, I had the massage on my bed from 2-4 pm. I have never had a massage on my bed. I either stay on the sofa or I go up to the massage room. This time, I couldn’t even stand up, my body was glued to the bed.
Our 10 year old aircon had been replaced with a 3 tonner. I need a thicker blanket. Huh, they dug a hole into the ceiling!!!!!
When night time came, my husband wanted to watch tv but there was no sound.
Husband also replaced our yellow lights with LED lights. It’s so bright here.
Father and daughter suspected that I tinkered with the remote controls.
I’ve not been home for a day and yet I already messed up with the remote settings? I didn’t. I only clicked the power button to switch the tv off.
New aircon, new tv, new cable. Three remote controls to overcome.
