Today
8 am while I was in my bathroom, while Edmund was in his bathroom, we heard a very loud crash followed by the sound of broken glasses. It was so loud that the whole neighborhood must have heard it. My first reaction was to run to the window, I didn’t see the garbage truck. Baka kako the truck hit our vehicles parked on the street.
I started screaming thinking that the crash was inside our house. I called Edmund and his first reaction was “merong naatrasan”. He ran downstairs. while I ran to the front terrace. I saw some drivers of our neighbors standing in front of our house and pointing at our garage. The more I panicked. The first thing a mother would think of is her children’s safety.
I became hysterical after I saw Oyen’s room door open. I started calling Oyen’s name. That means she could be in the garage. Nyke went out of his room after he heard the commotion. That means my son is safe. I was screaming and calling my daughter while I was running down the stairs. YEN! YEN! ANAK! YEN! I ran to the garage still calling Oyen.
The minute I stepped into the garage, I saw Jazzy’s limped body pinned under the front right wheel of the Expedition. I saw blood and broken glasses scattered on the floor. I had no slippers but I didn’t think of my safety. I was calling for my daughter. Yen! Yen! I saw her crying in front of another vehicle. She was sobbing. I hugged my daughter and asked if she’s hurt. She was just sobbing.
I was screaming. Edmund was also screaming. We asked who drove the expedition. “SINOOO?” They all pointed to Sergeant U. I screamed at him, “Hindi ka naman driver! Bakit ka nag drive! Hindi ka naman driver!”. I also yelled at the drivers, where were they? why did they allow him to drive. Yung isa daw naglilinis ng kotse, yung isa daw nasa kwarto, yung isa kesyo hindi raw napansin. Edmund was mad at his superior. Bakit pinabayaan pakialamanan yung sasakyan, alam naman nya na hindi pa marunong mag maneho.
I was hysterical and screaming at all of them. Edmund carried me away from the broken glasses. Nalilis yung daster ko, kaya I wiggled so he would let go of me. When he put me down, I hit the two drivers with my right hand while screaming, “bakit nyo sya pinayagan na pakialaman ang sasakyan!” Napakahina ko naman, they didn’t even know I hit them. One on his right arm, yung isa sa pwet ko pinalo.
Edmund was also screaming at the guy. “Pinatay mo si Jazzy! Pinatay mo si Jazzy”. He wanted to punch him. I screamed naman at Edmund, “Tart, lumayo ka”. Ayaw ko sya magalit, I don’t want him to get sick.
Then I yelled at the guy, “lumayo ka, ilayo nyo sya, lumayo ka. Umalis ka na”. I was gasping for breath.
Siguro he’s been wanting and curious to drive the Expedition, hindi naman sya marunong mag drive. Instead of stepping on the brakes, he stepped on the gas, the heavy SUV came crashing on our cabinets, old furniture, and Ford Fiesta parked some 4 – 5 meters away. The impact caused so much rubble. It destroyed all the cabinets, shelves, credencia, chairs and an antique table, and pushed the Ford Fiesta against the wall. Buti it didn’t hit our two columns. It could have shaken our whole house.
He killed our dearest eleven year old shih tzu, JAZZY.
This is so sad and scary. Poor Jazzy.
Until now I quiver….it’s so scary.
Very shocking & scary accident, not to mention that your dear pet of so many years was killed… There is however a belief that when a pet(specially a dog) dies, it saves the life of another… could be his master or someone dear to him. Let’s just take it as … you were very fortunate that none of your loved ones were hurt. God bless, & still, Christmas will be merry for you guys.
that’s what my husband always tells us. That our dogs offered their lives for us. This was th second time according to him. thank you Ramon for your concern. A blessed Christmas to you and your family.
I’m so sorry for your loss ms Annie.
Thank you Olive

Im so sorry for your loss, Ms. Annie. My sister recently lost her shih tzu too and was inconsolable. I do not own any pets, but seeing her cry and look so helpless really breaks my heart. You’re in our prayers. Glad that you, your husband and children are safe.
Thank you Izza for your concern. Warm regards.
