Jan 2017
The first thing that I noticed when we entered the Trident seafood restaurant in Sausalito was the tray full of souvenir matches. There are only few restaurants who give out free matches nowadays.
I used to collect matches from hotels and restaurants I visited. I don’t remember when I lost interest. Ah alam ko na. One day I discovered that many of the matches were gone. The few that were left had no more “matches’ in them. Yung carton na lang ang natira. Nainis ako. My more than ten years collection was gone. Thanks to our maids. Since then on, I stopped collecting.
Trident is a popular tourist destination mainly due to its location. Its patio has a commanding view of the bay, skyline and surrounding hills.
It first opened in 1966 as a music bar / restaurant. It closed in 1976. It reopened in 1980 under the name Horizons. The owners resumed its original name Trident in 2012.
Trident’s oysters are very fresh but I prefer that of Hog Islands.
The fries are thinly cut. Their truffle fries is one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
If I get the chance to go back to this restaurant, I’ll just order tuna tartar and truffle fries.
Those too would be enough to please my discerning palate.
Seafood linguine a la Provencale
We ordered one more truffle fries. We were overstuffed but their fries are irresistible.
I am so fat and have sugar overload. I should stop eating desserts.
I can’t.
