Tuesday trip to Antipolo - Oh My Buhay

Tuesday trip to Antipolo

I went to the Assessor’s office in Antipolo. It was my first time but I felt at home because there were many kababayan and distant relatives who work there. A lady came-up to me and made kumusta my parents, my brothers, ang kuya Ben, kuya Junior, my sister in-law Ate Linda. One of the Ynarezes’ architects was there and he’s a friend pala of my kuya Ben. He’s also from Binangonan.

I spent a few hours chatting with Monet Vital who works there now as the head or chief assessor. Our topic started with her previous job at my Kuya Lito’s office where she worked for for 4 years, then to neighbors in Binangonan, playmates, family, etc.

After being engrossed making tsismis, I totally forgot the time- I was supposed to visit Kuya Ben (+) and go to St. Ursula Church.
I also forgot the very reason why I went to the Antipolo munisipyo in the first place. Balik na lang ako ulit.

Monet and I had a late lunch at Cafe Cristina in Antipolo. It was both our first time. Their building is fairly new and the interior is okay. The food was surprisingly good too.

After I dropped-off Monet back to the munisipyo, I went to the Antipolo church instead of going to Binangonan kasi gagabihin na ako.

I offered several masses for my departed parents and brother. I also offered masses for our good health and safety.

This boy asked for money to buy rice. He said his mother is a laundry woman and his father is a construction worker. They’re from Teresa, Rizal daw. I wasn’t sure if he’s telling the truth but nevertheless I gave him fifty bucks. Napalaki kasi wala pala akong five pesos or 20 pesos sa bag.

I went inside to pray but I was distracted and paranoid that the other beggars would come and kuyugin ako. Baka the teenage boy told them that I gave him P50 and they would all come running towards me.

True enough, as soon as I sat down on one of the pews, I saw two hands stretched out on my right side. I searched at the bottom of my bag and I only found a P5 coin. I told them to split it na lang.
