According to Edmund and Oyen, our silk terrier dog Twinkle is actually the provocateur. She and her son Jack are the ones that antagonize Lucy and provoke trouble. The minute their paths cross, they growl and without any warning attack the much bigger dalmatian. They think they are big dogs.
Oyen wants to send Twinkle away. Ipa ampon na lang or to bring Twinkle to Loveridge. But she’ll chase and antagonize my chickens. I already could see in my mind what’s for sure to happen. Our native chickens scampering for their lives. They would be so stressed out and before I knew it, they would be dropping dead one by one from extreme fatigue, stress and fear.
Twinkle is US born. Yes, she’s an American citizen. Her dad is Lucky, Aileen’s dog who is also makulit. But Twinkle is makulit to the max. You cannot contain her in an area because she’s a Mcgyver and Agent 007 rolled into one. She would surely know how to climb and find or create a hole to get out.
When I ran to the garage during the ramble, I saw Twinkle down on the floor with her face up, with Lucy’s paws pinning her down. She wasn’t able to defend herself or even bark. In the past, when she was fighting with Lucy,
Twinkle was still able to bark and defend herself by biting Lucy too. Yesterday, she was really on the ground. Lucy was this close to killing her.
The vet found deep wounds on Twinkle from Lucy’s bites. She was sent home after the treatment and was given a long list of medicines for the next few days.
Oyen instructed Antonia to hide the capsule inside a piece of meatball before giving it to Twinkle or else she would spit it out. This morning, Oyen put the medicine inside a slice of beef.
Twinkle was responsible for Jazzy’s (+) one eye infection which led to blindness. She also hated Jazzy. Oyen thinks Twinkle hates all female dogs. Lucy is female.
Twinkle had breast tumor a few years ago. She was operated on to remove the tumor. Last night when Oyen went to the vet to pay for Twinkle’s emergency medical treatment, the doctor informed Yen that they found a solid lump in Twinkle’s neck. When her wounds have healed, we will send her back to the hospital for operation.
Lucy was calmer when we came back from the church last night. Tahimik na.
For the longest time, every time Derrick visits, Lucy barks at him. Nagagalit, parang gustong mangagat. After two years, she now allows Derrick to touch her and she no longer barks at him. It took a long time. Dati even before Derrick enters our gate, Lucy would start barking already.
She’s more malambing to Oyen.
Oyen has been wanting to have a great dane, a dog as big as a pony. We don’t have a big space here. Our garage is so masikip na. We don’t have a garden. Big dogs need a generous amount of space to exercise their legs and be comfortable. She also has to budget P10,000 a month for its food.
