We spent a night in Tagaytay last Saturday because we attended the wedding of the second son of Edmund’s friend Buboy. Six months ago his first son got married.
The wedding ceremony was at 2 pm but we only went to the reception. Two pm would be too early. We left Manila at almost 10 am. Had lunch at Angel Fields, visited the farm, gave instructions, nagpayroll pa ako. Tapos we checked in at Taal Vista Hotel.
Edmund was not happy with our two previous stays at this hotel even if we got a really large suite room overlooking the volcano. Natyempuhan kasi nun, maingay, too many guests, and he also found the place, para daw amoy at mukhang hospital.
I didn’t have the time and energy to search for an alternative hotel. Meron yung iba, no internet in the rooms, or no 24 hour room service, etc.
I only booked the least expensive room because we’re sawa na sa Taal Lake view. Every time we would pay extra to have a view, we never got to even peek because we were either too tired or too occupied engaging in the most romantic activity…….. sleeping.
We got lucky last saturday. We were given a two bedroom suite with no additional cost.
The room has a nice flow and looks like it’s just been renovated or seldom used.
There were three television sets, one in each room plus one in the living room.
The reception immediately follows after the 2 pm wedding. That’s what was in the invitation. We were still getting ready by 5 pm. Edmund’s suite got wrinkled, ang bilis nya, nagplantasa pa. Nakiplantsa na rin ako. I ironed my shawl kasi merong tupi-tupi. I was imagining it would be too windy and cold in Tagaytay Midlands. Eh ubo nga ako ng ubo pa. I didn’t want to go without a shawl.
We liked the room a lot. It was totally unexpected because prior to checking in we lowered our expectations and resigned to the fact that the room could be typically boring and drab. But room 367 was great. We’ll stay there again in two weeks.
