My two friends are bonding well together. Both moms lost their respective sons to suicide.
And because of the same reason. Their girlfriends fell for somebody else.
They told me not a day passed without them thinking of their lost sons. And they still shed tears.
Attention: young people
When you go into a relationship, there are no guarantees that the two of you would stay in love together forever. The other person could bump into someone else at the elevator and fall in love and totally forget about you. No matter how handsome, or how pretty you are, your girlfriend or boyfriend can get sick and tired of you, get bored with your relationship and look for more excitement.
When you are in love with someone, DO NOT LOSE YOURSELF. Don’t make that person the only center of your life. No matter how great your life together is, keep a little something to yourself. Entertain the thought that this person could lose interest in you (even if you are already married), he/she can fall out of love, he/she can outgrow you, he/she may be blinded by someone more interesting and gorgeous looking. These things are not within your control.
If your relationship fails, do not blame yourself. Yes, cry and be sad, but don’t forget to live. Re-align yourself and re-engineer your being. You were born on this earth without that person. You can live without that person.
Bakit mo sisirain ang buhay mo para dun lang sa isang taong yun? Sino ba sya? If you kill yourself, they will just pity you and think you have a psychological imbalance and that would make them feel good about their decision of dumping you. That would not change how they feel about you. You will just inflict unbearable pain to your parents. And it is so unfair to them.
Do not give-up living just because one person has left you. God did not put you into this world so you could just give-up easily. Fight. There’s more to life than being heartbroken. No matter how unbearable it is, that feeling would die down sooner than you think. Live. Despite the many challenges which sometimes feel insurmountable, it still is worth living. Discover. This is a world of wonder. Go out and explore, enjoy, appreciate your surroundings, inhale the cold breeze, look at the flowers and trees. Get a puppy.
In basketball, the best offense is a defense. If you are happy within yourself then you are not susceptible to depression. Your defense would come inside your brains. Be strong mentally. Be tough. Be content with yourself. Being successful in your own right is the best revenge. Don’t sulk in one corner. Strive and thrive. In life, if there is something that occurred in your life that knocked you down, don’t be in a hurry to get up. Sit still, relax, then gather the pieces, one at a time. Do something positive for yourself. Learn a new skill, go back to school, volunteer to help the poor and the sick, learn to make a birdcage, plant a tree. Sing, dance, hike, bike. Just move, don’t die. Life is worth living. Problems never stop coming while we are living. That’s just the way life is. Just keep on living and fighting. Pray and continue to be a good person.
Great advice. So true.
Thank you.
