Two sugat - Oh My Buhay

I broke-down and dropped on my knees. I didn’t except that would scrape-off my skin. Ala, I got two fresh sugat on both my knees. It’s been a week and yet the bigger one on the left is still fresh. My son accompanied me to Mercury Drug to buy medicine.

It took me a while to choose which one. I also couldn’t read the labels.

When I was still small, every time I would stumble down, my mom would always dress my wound with agua oxynada (or oxinada?). That was the more familiar bottle but I couldn’t find it here in Mercury Drug, baka hindi na uso yan.

antiseptic for wounds

I couldn’t decide which one, they have the same generic name.
Iodine and Betadine

I picked the Betadine and brought it to the counter. I asked the pharmacist if they have something better for wounds, he suggested Terramycin, wag na daw yung Betadine. I bought Terramycin instead and have been applying the ointment morning and night. So far it’s working.

  1. Agua Oxinada is Hydrogen Peroxide. 🙂

Annie, I pray that God grant you more strength so you can overcome all your worries and pain in no time.
Please take care and stay strong. You have a good heart.

  2. Hi Ms. Annie! Di man ako nakakapag post ng comments as often as I could, I still regularly visit your blog. Ilang days ko nga po na nakikita yung kangkong field as your latest post. Hehe.. Kaya I smiled when i saw new posts.. (kahit na sad yung iba.) 🙁

And it does bring back childhood memories. Sakto yung linya ng mom nyo. 🙂

Stay strong Ms. Annie!

And syempre, i also pray for the healing of your heart and spirit. God Bless you Ms. Annie! 🙂

  3. hi ms. annie. doctors are advising against agua oxinada or alcohol for treating wounds.. lalo daw kasi lalalim and maluluto yung laman. betadine is good for cleaning the wound pero good if you apply antiseptic to it to fasten the healing process.

i hope you’ll find peace soon ms. annie. we, your readers, feel your sadness as well. i really hope things will be better in the coming days..just keep the faith and God will never leave you.

    1. Dear Nerie,
I think you are right.

      Thank you for your prayers.
