When I went to Farmers Market on Sunday morning, I saw big head fresh water shrimps called ULANG. I bought a few and cooked them last night with sampaloc, patis, gabi and cilantro. Parang sinigang pero hindi naman. There’s no other available ingredient in our ref. I paired the hipon with the native manggang hilaw and ate Elsie’s delicious “not too salty” alamang. I also fried some chicken thigh sans skin marinated with ground black pepper, rock salt and chopped garlic.
