Being generous to others doesn’t always bring good results. There are many people who are so undeserving of our compassion and understanding.
I am aghast at the way some people’s mind function. Narrow and crooked. They borrow money and forget about it. They get mad when they’re asked to pay because in their minds they don’t owe anything.
They now act as if they’re the victim and the one who stood for them becomes the oppressor.
Being schemy, greedy and full of envy are markers of bad character.
Kindness means doing something good to others and not expecting anything back.
But are they kind too? To us? NO.
Would they do the same thing to help us? NO.
Are they grateful? NO.
There’s nothing that we could do to make them appreciate us because they are competitive and envious.
I was right all along.
Better to stay away from them.

Great post. This is a sore spot for me, too! Some people also have a sense of entitlement to help that takes the joy out of giving. I’m also a very giving person but, lately I’ve found myself resentful at this expectation… That someone who has means should take care of those who do not. When giving starts to hurt the giver, then it’s time to stop.

Hi Ms Annie! Thanks for this post. It helps me not to feel so bad that i finally decided to be ‘madamot’ na. Many times in the past i always end up being the ‘Cruella Deville’ pa to some people when i ask them to pay me na. Ako na daw yung nanggigipit? Gosh, eh naniningil lang nman ako? Haay, some people tlaga! With you, im sure you were abused na of your generosity and kindness many times, you even seem to be forgiving pa cguro kaya yung iba nakakaulit pa. But il do a rally with you now, to stay away from ‘their lahi’! Have a pleasant day ahead anyway! Keep blogging!
