For fear of missing my early flight to Washington Dulles, I wasn’t able to sleep.
I set my alarm at 4 am but I was still awake by 3 pm. When I was dozing off, my phone started ringing so loudly.
E———-“Hi Tart, katatapos ko lang mag-golf”.
It’s 6 pm in Manila and my husband was calling from the golf club men’s locker that’s why half of the time, our conversation was choppy.
After his call, I couldn’t sleep anymore and by 4:15 am, I was already taking a shower.
Aileen tried to cook sopas but it was taking a long time kasi pinakukuluan pa nya yung manok. Bong and I just ate the left over lugaw from yesterday.
We left Hayward at 5:10 am and I was at the check-in counter of United Airlines, Terminal 3, SFO airport by 5:30 am. Still too early, I wanted to sleep but baka naman mapasarap ang tulog ko eh maiwan ako ng eroplano.
It’s still too early, I bought Mentos and tsismis magazine Intouch to entertain me. The lady manning the San Francisco Travel News corner told me she reports for work at 3 am.
Tonyboy and Rp were waiting for me at the Gordon Biersch restaurant near gates 72-73 but I went straight to our gate #66. I was so lazy and walked like a zombie, haven’t slept.
Seat 24 B
I didn’t buy food from the flight attendants. I just asked for a free cup of iced water.
full house
I was at the middle seat feeling like a tawilis in between two bigger bangus. I didn’t know what went wrong but I requested the travel agent to get me a seat closest to the front, and aisle. I gave my credit card details. I thought she was able to get me a prime economy seat. When I checked in, the only ones available were 3 middle seats. Bale wala rin kaya I didn’t pay extra anymore. Eto na lang. Two hours into the flight, I was feeling rayuma na, nangangawit na ako, I couldn’t stand up, I couldn’t go to the toilet. Ang sikip!!!!
My seatmate on the aisel seat was having a picnic. I was waiting for her to finish eating her sandwich, naku ang dami palang baon na pagkain. Sheate them all one after the other.
After the sandwiches, banana, etc., she took out a pocket of cereals naman. I told myself, eto pag hindi pa natapos kumain, I will pee in my pants. After she finished the cereal she stood up to go to the toilet. Hayun, sumabay na rin ako, and also the American guy seated at the window seat also stood up and went to the toilet.
Ang malas ko kasi my seatmate was ahead of me in line to the toilet. Aba merong dalang babasahin. Mukhang mag u uu pa duon. I moved to another cubicle.
This father and son were seated on row 23. The baby is so adorable, nahihiya lang ako hiramin so I could hug him. Ang cute nya, ang pogi. Four months old, Grant. He smiles so easily.
Tonyboy was nervous to take an American airline because of the resurgence of terrorist groups, specifically ISIS. When we landed, he heaved a sigh of relief.
My first time in this airport, Washington Dulles. The first few times, we passed thru Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport which is closer to the city.
We took a huge military truck-looking train that transfers airline passengers to the terminal.
I am the only one traveling lite. All my male colleagues have at least two bats. Tonyboy has 3 bags.
OMB———-“Daig nyo pa ako, ang dami nyong dala”.
Tonyboy—– “Mga gamot yan”.
OMB——— “Ano bang dala nyo, mga make-up?”
Tonyboy—–“Gusto mo pahiramin kita ng lipstick?
RP is the one carrying the gifts for our hosts.
