Viking Dinner Cruise

(Delayed Post, April 27, 2015)
The Viking River / Dinner Cruise ship was conveniently docked steps away from Sofitel.  That’s the pick-up and drop-off point.

It was the perfect day to take the short cruise. The weather was perfect, not too cold.

I liked this ship. It’s a big improvement from the dinner cruise ships we took in Turkey and Sydney. This one is more high end.    They have a free welcome orange juice and sparkling wine.

The wooden floor laminates made us feel right at home.

We shared the table with Beth and Lito. Every time Beth called her husband, I couldn’t help but think it was me she’s calling kaya ako ang titingin. Instead of HONEY, she pronounced it Aney without the H. It really sounded like Annie. I wanted to request if she could replace her terms of endearment to DARLENG.

The very long buffet table didn’t mean lots of food choices. They just had two sets of buffet with the same kinds of food to avoid over crowding.

The food was decent. Good for those watching their diets.

The soup was good. The rest was so-so. I got half sausage which I only tasted and didn’t finish, one-fourth fish, the rest I couldn’t remember. That means the food was forgettable.

Immediately after dinner, we went out to the balcony to enjoy the view of the River Danube and the palaces around it.

Ayleen, Blue Danube. It’s not blue naman.

The cruise started at 6 pm while it was still bright. Then at 6:45 pm, it started to get dark. The reflection of the lights on the water made the views magical.

We climbed to the deck where the view was so much better. Very romantic.

The deck was sprawling, ang sarap talaga ng feeling. And the views—I just wanted to stay there the whole night.

The ship passed under the Chainbridge at least twice.

It was really very relaxing. I could sleep there.

After one and a half hours, the Viking ship was back to where we started. We were the last to get off. We had so much fun we didn’t want to leave.
