We received a special invitation from Ambassador Rosalyn Hazelle for a reception prior to the Gala Night.
I was still in Manila when I received the update about the Gala Dinner, which said that the dress code was black tie. I got a little stressed out because that meant I had to wear formal, preferably a long gown. All my gowns have outgrown me, or more like my body has outgrown them. I have a black and gold cocktail dress made by Amir Sali but it was loose so I didn’t bring it with me. It is heavy and I figured bibigat ang maleta ko. I left it at home, which I later regretted.
I have some cocktail dresses here in Cali but they are all masikip sa bewang. From my 30″ waistline to 45″ masikip na talaga.
Eto lang kasya pero ang tyan ko naka usli. Parang nilunok ko tatlong pakwan.
We were about to leave the room when I remembered I forgot to put on the fake eye lashes I bought in Robinson’s Galleria.
A—– “Ay tart, nalimutan kong ilagay ito. Can you help me?”
E—– “Ano, bakit ako? Isusuot mo pala bakit ngayon mo lang….. sana kanina mo pa nilagay.”
A—–” Nakalimutan ko nga. Paki lagay mo nga hindi ako marunong.”
E—–“Ano ba yan, lalo na ako, ako pa pahihirapan mo.”
A—–“Sige na tart, sayang naman binili ko. Lahat sila dun naka fake lashes kaya maganda.”
E——“Ginawa mo pa akong make-up artist.”
My husband agreed to stick the lashes on my lids. Yehey. Thank you dear husband.
