Warning in buying brand-new vehicles - Oh My Buhay

Warning in buying brand-new vehicles

In buying brand-new vehicles, please make sure every peso that you pay is given to the dealer’s cashier on duty at the dealer’s showroom. Money must be fully acknowledged. If you are issuing a check, please make it payable to the name of the company, not under the name of the employee, cashier, accountant, sales manager, or sales executive. No matter how close you are to the person, neighbor, kumpare, kumare, girlfriend, boyfriend, classmate, please NEVER entrust your money. Do remember that official receipts, company letterheads, acknowledgement receipts are easily duplicated and faked too. The only way you can protect your money is to issue a check payable to the name of the company / dealer and NEVER TO AN INDIVIDUAL.

If you are making a reservation deposit, whether it’s 5,000 pesos or 10,000 or whatever amount, please give it to the cashier stationed inside the showroom and ask for either a receipt or acknowledgment receipt. Never give the cash to anyone else. If you are paying in check, make it payable to the company’s name for example: MAKATI FORD. Do not deposit the cash to the agent’s bank account and expect that it would reach the company. Money is a temptation. Do not tempt sales agents, or your representative, by giving them money intended for the purchase of your vehicle.

Remember this very simple rule: The company is not responsible for any payment it did not receive.
