We harvested organic sitaw - Oh My Buhay

We harvested organic sitaw

I used to buy bangus for P50 – P70 depending on the size, now it’s at least 200 pesos a kilo. That’s at least triple. My income did not increase that much. In fact my income decreased! Thanks to our competent economic managers and politicians.

I don’t know where this amazing country managers intend to lead us to but in the meantime we, ordinary Filipinos must resort to practical measures to help cushion the impact of our government’s Pasakit sa Pilipino Program or PPP.

Most people’s income will not be able to keep up with the soaring prices of food. Aside from belt tightening, it helps to be creative and resourceful.

Let’s start planting vegetables. What are the pluses? Easy to manage. Kahit sa lata, balde, paso, palanggana, pwede. Kahit maliit ang lote, sa gilid gilid lang ng bahay, pwede. Malaking tipid. Example, about 5 weeks ago I bought sitaw seeds. Our gardener cut some bamboo and made a crude balag. He planted the seeds beside each bamboo stick.

After only a few weeks we started harvesting string beans.
