We need more ambulances and hospitals - Oh My Buhay

We need more ambulances and hospitals

It’s heartbreaking to see an ambulance frantically trying to squeeze through heavy traffic. I couldn’t imagine the frenzy and agitation of the passengers in the ambulance. Driver must be in panic. One precious life could be on the line.

Attention drivers:

Agad itabi ang inyong sasakyan at tumigil pag merong narinig o nakitang ambulansya para mabilis itong makadaan. Huwag unahan.

Because of the metropolis’ heavy traffic congestion anytime of the day, and the rapid increase in our country’s population, there’s a need to increase the number of ambulances that could respond to medical emergencies. Ideally, there must be hospitals in every city that are equipped with medical supplies and equipment. Para malapit lang ang tatakbuhin ng mga ambulansya. general-hospital-ambulance-clip-art-medical-free-image

Nung panahon namin, pag merong may sakit sa Binangonan, luluwas pa ng Maynila. Pag merong serious emergency, the nearest big hospital was Medical City in Pasig which was an hour away. The Morong General Hospital in Morong Rizal is closer ( half-hour). It has better and bigger facilities than clinics and centers but not as modern as Medical City.

Angono now has a medium sized hospital and there’s a new one in Binangonan, Lakeview.

If you live in the heart of the metropolis, ewan na kung may emergency.
Don’t get sick on a Monday, traffic is bad. That’s the first day of work and there are many coming back to Manila.

Tuesday is congested too. Those who didn’t go to work on Monday because it’s heavy traffic and with habitual Monday sickness will report for work on Tuesday. Those who were absent from school will come on Tuesday. Merchants do their errands on Tuesdays. Divisoria is closed on Mondays so Tuesday is super busy.
From early morning till midnight, sinners and saints go to the Redemptorist Church (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) in Baclaran every Wednesday. Traffic extends from Tramo to Quezon Avenue so it’s also not a good time to have an emergency such as manganak, heart attack, asthma attack.

Maluwag sana ang traffic pag linggo pero huwag manganak or magpa emergency pag linggo kasi  family day, absent ang mga doctors.

Thursdays are supposed to have lighter traffic along EDSA, SLEX and NLEX. But you can’t be sure either. There are many who go out on Thursdays thinking that traffic is lighter. Sabay-sabay lumabas kaya naging heavy. They re-scheduled their appointments and errands on this day kaya super traffic din. My God, I always tell myself not to schedule any meeting on Fridays. I don’t want to go out on Fridays but it can’t be helped.

I love rain. It’s a blessing. But not on Friday night.
Our house is 10 minutes away from Megamall but it took us 1 hour and 24 minutes to reach our house last Friday. For a long time vehicles didn’t move an inch in front of SM.
