We needed a change of environment even for one night to relax and deviate our minds from stress. Edmund suggested that we book a hotel in Tagaytay. Most hotels were fully booked. I was able to get the last room available at Taal Vista. The manager was kind of apologetic because she said it has parquet flooring and it’s different. I only found out what she meant by different after we entered the room. It’s old but we didn’t mind. Edmund actually liked the room because it was cozy. The wooden floors made it feel like a home. Unlike the rooms with cold ceramic tiles.
The picture window was also nice.
The room looked comfortable and conducive to sleeping. After checking in we rested and watched CNN. We didn’t realize it was already past 7 pm. We were lazy to leave the comforts of our hotel room but we needed to eat dinner.
We went out in t-shirts and sleepers. We walked past the side lobby.
There were three weddings being held at the same time at Taal Vista Hotel on that same night. I saw the newly weds waiting outside the reception hall.
I took their photo.
I was going to take another photo when all of a sudden the ballroom door opened and flashes of cameras greeted the couple, meron pang video. I saw some faces frowned, merong photo bomber! Me!! I was so embarrassed. Naka tsinelas pa ako at mukhang matutulog na. Ah, they can photo shop the photos. Sorry couple, you had a perfect timing. You waited till I was passing by.
I wanted to book for an aromatherapy massage but all their therapists at the spa and even in room service were fully booked. The only available time slot was at 11 pm. Never mind.

Edmund said he bumped into Chef Paul Yang the day before, sabi daw it’s been a while since we dined at his restaurant. Kaya eto, we went back for our dinner date.
Chef Paul came out of the kitchen to welcome us. He made this salad for me. I didn’t finish it, I only ate the tuna. He came out and asked if I didn’t like it. I couldn’t finish it because I had late lunch and buffet at Sonya’s Garden earlier. I ate salad and pasta. Tila hindi pa natutunaw sa tyan ko. Kaya I only ordered soup and salad. I didn’t order a main course. I was still full from my lunch.
Edmund’s main course was steak.
This restaurant is a consistent winner.

One of the things we like doing in Tagaytay is just hanging around here at Cliff House after dinner. Edmund drinks coffee while I eat ice cream.
I was feeling a little humid but Edmund said the temperature daw was tamang-tama lang. It was neither hot nor cold but I missed the cold breeze.
One order of mango crepe with chocolate syrup was not enough for the two of us. We ordered another one with double vanilla ice cream. ‘Kala ko busog pa ako from my lunch. Maling akala.
The wedding reception just ended when we got back to the hotel. The door to the ballroom was wide open while the waiters were busy cleaning up the place.
We asked permission if we could go inside.
I took a photo of the stage where the bride and groom sat down during the program. I wanted to get some ideas.
I like long tables better than round ones.
There was a fruit basket (bowl) in the room when we got back. It’s from the hotel duty manager, Paula Quimson.
How sweet naman si Paula. Nag-abala pa. Kasi daw, to use her own words, bihira na daw kase kami bumisita.
Chocolate macarons. Kaya tuloy I feel guilty staying at other hotels in Tagaytay.
