I’ve been to Rustan’s 3x this week. First was with Edmund, second was yesterday morning to pick-up a gift for a good friend of mine.
I actually reserved something last Sunday, but when I went back to buy it, I couldn’t find the item, or maybe I was on the wrong floor. I also had second thoughts if he would like that. I found a cute ceramic display and right away, I took it to the cashier hoping that it would blend with his existing office decor and color motif.
The color didn’t match his office but he said it was fine. He’s too nice and forgiving. He’s the type of friend who would thank me profusely for a piece of puto. He knows how to show his appreciation not for the puto but for the thought. Ang hirap lang nyang puntahan kasi ang taas ng office nya, nahilo na ako sa traffic, nahilo pa ako sa elevator.
I went back to Rustan’s last night supposedly to buy a dining table centerpiece or a wreath for our front door.
I became emotional when I saw their window displays. When Oyen was little, I would occasionally bring her to Rustan’s in Makati, dun kami sa labas, admiring the fancy and whimsical window displays. My daughter would jump up and down from excitement.
“Mommy, look, I like that, that one, and that one, and that one”.
I told my driver to pick-me up after an hour but after almost two hours of inspecting the Christmas decors, I still couldn’t decide what and which to buy. They had so many nice items, but nothing that exactly matched what I had in mind. The stuff that I liked were super expensive naman. Baka matuyo ang pasko ko sa decoration pa lang.
P4,950 for one Christmas ball.
Center piece if your table is as big as your house.
Lladro P1,022,000+
I will buy two angels next week, one for the daughter of Mrs. Balaguer, di ba she’s sick? and one for our house.
I am thinking of getting that tall Santa on the right, P5,950 I think. He can stand in a corner. After Xmas, problema kung saan itatago.
I liked the battery operated candles, P3,650 each. Dapat 3 para maganda, dyes mil na agad yun.
I really liked the white owl P1,250 but our tree is complete na. The sales guy tried to convince me to get all their stocks, tila eight pieces na lang at 10.
10 x 1,250 = P 12,500. I have no where to put them. They reminded me of a gift my Kuya Junior gave me for Christmas when I was in the elementary. It was a beautiful bright yellow owl named Ookpik. I miss it.
I spoke to Rustan’s in house store decorator. Their team is willing to come over to our house and recommend what decors would look nice.
I am not sure if I would want to do that. Baka our house would look like Rustan’s. After the holidays, problema ang pag store.
I was invited by the ladies to attend the Swarovski event on the second floor. I took a few photos then left. They had champagne and salmon which I didn’t touch. I am not fond of wearing crystals and fashion accessories kaya I didn’t even look at the displays.
Tessa Prieto-Valdes was their celebrity guest. She looked stunning in her outfit.
One of the reasons I went back to Rustan’s was to take a picture of this glass foyer.
Edmund is inspired to create something similar in our showroom.
