Change Lifestyle - Oh My Buhay

For several days I’ve been irritated by a tiny bump on my lower lip. It’s very small but I could feel it and it bothered me. I tried to scratch it off but it didn’t come off.

I went to a derma yesterday afternoon to have it removed.

She kalikot my face in less than 8 minutes but I spent another hour listening to her stories and insights.

1. She highly recommended that I change my lifestyle by selling our house and moving to a condo. She said many of her friends have started doing this. They sold their houses and save on utilities, maintenance, realty taxes, etc.

Her friends just hire a cleaner who comes once a week, a laundry and plantsa girl who also comes one day a week. No more expensive 24/7 feeding of kasambahays.

2. She lives in a 3 bedroom condo and when she leaves the house, she locks it with a P40,000 bolt. She takes with her the two yayas and her husband who’s always beside her. She said I should do the same thing. Baka daw pagbalik sa bahay eh yung asawa eh asawa na ng yaya kaya kailangan hindi sila iiwan sa bahay.

3. She owns a beautiful rest house in Batangas with three stay-in caretakers who do nothing but eat and sleep. She’s very kind to them. She makes sure their supplies are complete and her refrigerator is also well stocked so that every time she and and her husband come, they have food. She spends P10,000 for groceries each time she buys for their (caretakers) supply. One time, she looked at the grocery list given to her by her cook in Batangas. She noticed the items lapulapu, prawns, beef sirloin, etc. Nagulat sya, all this time, she was just buying and not noticing what she was actually buying. She realized in all the past months, she and her husband had never eaten prawns and lapulapu while in their rest house.
She just remembered that a few times, when she looked for food, the cook would always tell her, mam, nawalan ng kuryente dito, nasira yung mga karne.

She devised a plan, she invented some stories that made the three caretakers hate each other. Para hindi sila mag connive. One day, one of the girls squealed that every saturday and sunday, the cook’s husband sleeps over and she prepares a banquet for him, lapulapu and prawns, his favorites. Tapos pag-aalis na yung husband, binabalot nung cook yung mga pagkain sa ref and pantry for him to take home.

One weekday, the derma and her husband made a surprise visit. They were knocking and calling for two hours outside their house before one of the maids came out to open the door.

They were having an afternoon nap inside the guest room with full aircon kaya they coudn’t hear that their employers were knocking.

In desperation, she threw something on the aircon, wasak. And she fired them right there and then.

She is seriously thinking of selling that house but her friends dissuade her. She might need it daw when she and her husband retires.

4. Her relative who is a highly successful medical practitioner in California recently bought a penthouse in Rockwell for a cool P80,000,000. The monthly dues daw is P60,000. Ang amelyar? Wala naman daw titira. Naka-lock lang.
