I wanted to host a small party for her birthday but Oyen chose to go hiking with her friends in Tanay. I thought they would come back late at night but they were back by 5:30 pm. Although looking tired, Yen said we’re going to dinner. Just us.
She chose to go to Prime 22 at the Discovery Hotel in Ortigas Center, Pasig, in front of the Podium Mall. She and her dad had been here a few years ago.
It’s my first time.
It’s dark but Oyen said it was darker the first time they dined here.
The parents
I didn’t know that some of Oyen’s friends read Oh my buhay on a regular basis. Also Derrick’s friends. They were surprised to see his photo on OMB. They connected the dots.
Yen seemed to know what to order.
It’s just been 10 days and see I can’t even remember what I ate. Did I order soup? My God, I am so forgetful na.

I tasted this, it was good.
Prime 22 is a steak restaurant but I opted to have fish. It’s late and I was sleepy, para bang too heavy to eat steak at 9 pm.
Yen ordered Surf and Turf P1,450
Derrick’s
Edmund finished this steak. It’s just the right thickness most especially that as soon we arrive home, he would immediately fall asleep. Baka hindi matunaw kung masyadong makapal yung slice.
Before, when we dine and bring a boyfriend or a girlfriend, we term it four plus 1 or four plus 2. Lately we’re always three. Kaya this photo is five minus 1. I miss my son. A lot. Very much. He likes steak too.
There was a tiny corner in the restaurant that was blocked with curtains and we could see from the outside that it was full of decoration. According to the waiter, a guy proposed to his girlfriend. They were still there while we were having dinner. All the works. Sobrang maarte na ngayon ang proposal ano? They even have an event organizer, they were dining at the nearby table. Parang nainggit ako. Biniro ko lang itong asawa ko na magpropose din sya sa akin eh parang hindi na maipinta yung mukha.

Para joke lang eh. Hindi na mabiro.
Happy bday anak. Your every birthday is a reminder of how blessed we are. You are a blessing not only to dad and I and to your brother, but to the whole world. If every person is like you, this world would be the best place ever.
