My son and I went to Glorietta last Sunday for lunch and to look for a birthday gift for Edmund.
It was 2:30 pm and we haven’t had lunch but couldn’t decide where and what to eat.
We walked from one restaurant to another hoping to find something that would excite our appetite.
The minute we reached the far end of Glorietta 4’s second floor, my son declared “here na lang mom”.
Yomenya Goemon Japanese Spaghetti House.
Not ramen, all spaghetti.
My son said, “you said you like Japanese?”
I answered “okay”.
Our senses were captured by these colorful Japanese food displays that looked so appetizing and real.
There were more than 30 choices of spaghetti and a few pizza variety.
Iced tea for him, water for me.
I ordered Clam Chowder soup spaghetti. Looked so yummy in the picture with big clams.
The waiter was trying to convince me to add another dish, soup also. I told him, I already ordered clam chowder soup, ” soup na naman?”
My son ordered Shrimp and scallop spaghetti.
The minute I saw this, I knew it’s not going to be great. It had 3 pieces of shrimps and one scallop split in 3. It did not look like a P500++ dish
The soup was good. My problem was the clams. They’re so tiny, I couldn’t even hold the shells. Sa liit, ni hindi ko nalasahan yung laman. My tongue couldn’t even feel the clam. I was very disappointed.
The waiter gave me a comments sheet which I gladly filled out.
Our dining experience was unsatisfactory. My son finished his pasta but wasn’t happy at all.
I just ate the soup. I was so frustrated looking for the clams. It could have been better if there were less spaghetti noodles, and a little bit more clams, bigger, not the tulya variety.
I paid more than a thousand pesos. I told my son we were attracted by their beautiful display window. My son said “marketing works”.
