Last October, Edmund told me “Tart next time summer naman tayo pumunta dito para pwede tayong makapag-shopping”. Kasi last October puro boots, sweater and jackets ang mga paninda. Kaya eto, June nadito kami sa California. From one super hot place (Manila) to another super hot place (Northern California).
While Edmund was playing golf in Millbrae with Enzo, Cocoy, etc., Aileen and I went to San Francisco, about half-hour train ride.
The BART train had no exhaust, grabe ang init, kulob na kulob. I couldn’t understand why. Dati-rati naman, presko dito. Ngayon parang nasa oven, as if naman naka pasok na ako sa oven.
As soon as we got off the Powell Station, ay thank you, ang presko ng hangin. Stlll sunny and hot under the sun but under the shade, it’s cooler.
If you want to ride the cable car / tram going to Fisherman’s Wharf, this is where you queue up at the Market Street, corner Powell.
There’s also a ticket booth here for boat rides to Sausalito and cruise to Vallejo and Napa Valley.
Powell goes straight to Union Square, where the luxury brands and stores are.
Goyard is at the corner of Powell, adjacent to Westin Hotel.
Len——-“Ate, eto yung pareho kay Roth.”
(Mr. Roth is the second owner of Filoli Mansion and Gardens who owned shipping lines).
A———“Pag meron na tayong ship pareho nya, tsaka tayo bibili nito.”
Len wants to buy a Goyard bag but every time we are at their store all her credit cards shrink and scream, “Oh No Madame Aileen, not today!”
$3,450 hand bag plus $500 for the leather strap plus 9.75% sales tax equals en ow.

Goyard is a nice leather goods maker, and I own a simple credit card holder that I bought when I was a student in NYC. Unlike Louis Vuitton, Goyard doesn’t believe in blatant branding 😀
