There are many Michelin -starred restaurants in Budapest and as much as we would like to try them all, we only have time for one so we picked Babel, reputedly the best restaurant in Budapest and the one highly recommended by a friend of mine who had dined in all the Michelin-starred restaurants there including at Babel.
I should stop slouching. I lost .67 of an inch in height due to a combination of old age and bad posture.
The place looks very simple from the outside. Inside it’s chic and casually elegant. I feel relaxed. The whole place isn’t big which works in its favor.
I originally booked a 7-course tasting menu but when Edmund saw the menu, he added the Casino Egg. He was also enticed into getting wine pairing for himself only because I don’t drink wine.
My husband abhors dining in Michelin-starred restaurants because in his past experiences, he finds the service slow and he falls asleep in between courses.
But his experience at Babel is more than pleasant. He doesn’t feel sleepy daw and is not inip while waiting for the next course to arrive. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In fact, halfway to our meal, he was on his phone booking another Michelin-starred restaurant for lunch and dinner. he booked a table at Wolfgang’s Spago. Ang kaso we only have one more day here in Budapest and we still have meal credits at Hotel Intercontinental. Abah, nasusian gusto naman nya araw-araw kakain kami. Hindi naman daw pala nakaka antok. Hohoho.
