We will face massive traffic congestion along EDSA or Maharlika Highway when the government starts rehabilitation of this major thoroughfare. We have to find ways to cope by using alternative roads and efficiently managing our time and work schedules. Lahat tayo kailangan magsakripisyo sa susunod na dalawang taon. Pero let’s expect that it’s going to take more than two years judging from the historical performances of many road works, minsan makupad umusad.
PURPOSE OF ODD EVEN SCHEME
The new ODD-EVEN scheme that takes effect on June 15, 2025 is intended to reduce the number of vehicles plying on EDSA by as much as 50%. Regrettably, the government favors certain automotive groups and brands. Exempted daw ang mga hybrids and EVs. Bakit? Di ba kotse din sila? Pampadagdag din sila sa number of vehicles?
DEFEATING THE PURPOSE
If the goal is to reduce the level of carbon emissions caused by vehicles along EDSA then I will understand why electric vehicles will be favored.
I thought the goal is to significantly REDUCE, DEDUCT, MINIMIZE, BAWASAN ang mga sasakyan na dumadaan sa EDSA, o e bakit exempted yung iba?
Dapat NO EXEMPTIONS. The rule must apply to everyone. Gobyerno ba ang importer ng mga EVs or partner ba sila ng mga dealers at ganyan ang rule nila?
PLANNING OUR ROUTES
We have several cars for our personal use and my husband has started inventorying how many are odd and how many are even. We have more odd numbered vehicles so on certain days we have to car pool or use alternative routes. We are all busy and we go out everyday, including Theo. We have to efficiently plan our schedules accordingly.
