Yehey! I won Mastercard’s Grand Vacation Package to Dubai, which includes a personal tour guide, a helicopter ride, a private yacht cruise, Michelin-starred meals, five-star hotel accommodations, and a private transportation around Dubai, among other perks. I am just not sure if the first class or business class tickets from Manila to Dubai and back are included. Just the same I am happy and I consider this a belated birthday gift.
The last time I won a raffle was when I was pregnant with my son. I won a basket with two dozens of fresh eggs at a village Christmas party.
When PAL began flashing names of the raffle winners on the wide screen, I paid attention. Not that I was expecting to win but I was curious who were the lucky winners. I never considered myself lucky in raffles, so this time I knew I would not win. I was listening to the prices and occasionally glanced at the stage to see who were the winners. Then the announcer said five star hotel accommodation at Nustar good for 6 people….. I saw the name in big bold fonts— Chito Roxas, I said wow, swerte.
My husband was a little irritated as to why I would be so excited about a free hotel accommodation in Cebu. Then the announcer started enumerating the prices from Mastercard. I heard “a private yacht cruise with a private tour guide, a helicopter ride, five star accommodation, safari, Michelin restaurants…. ” Naaliw lang ako, I said Wow, swerte. Swerte yung mananalo, then I glanced on the big screen on stage, nakita ko ANNIE TAN YEE in big bold letters. Hahahah, I jumped up and down and the people got excited for me. I was dancing with no shame. I was beyond excited not because of the price. But because I rarely won a prize in a raffle. Siguro kahit two dozens of eggs, I would still jump for joy. Lucky me!!!!!
My husband said we’ve been to Dubai, and had safari, etc. and that he will not ride the helicopter. I said basta sakay lang tayo. Nakakahiya naman kung hindi tayo sasakay. Pareho kami takot sa helicopter ride, at ako naman mahiluhin sa yacht cruise.
Di bale, I will just embrace the experience and have fun. The next thing to do is to calendar this. Cannot go this 2025 medyo puno na schedule. Next year na lang medyo napupuno na rin, pero let’s do it in 2026.
I don’t have yet the formal details of my grand prize but I am a little confused when the lady from PAL____ told me to use my points. I said wala na akong mga points, pinamigay ko na. Does that mean the package does not include tickets to Dubai? Siguro I only won a land arrangement, hotel, helicopter ride, private yacht cruise, Michelin star dinner, and five star hotel accommodation.
