Happy Lamb 1, 2, 3, and 4!

Nyke and I’s favorite hot pot restaurant is Happy Lamb, located beside Mayflower Chinese Restaurant and across the parking lot from Lowe’s Home Improvement Center in Dublin.

This location used to be Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot which opened in March 2014. After several years it transitioned to Happy Lamb. They’re known for their simmered broth — often bone-marrow based — served with lamb, beef, seafood, vegetables, and more. The rich, flavorful soup is what keeps us coming back.

On this trip alone, I’ve dined here not once, not twice, not thrice… but four times in a row. Happy Lamb 1, 2, 3, 4!

Edmund and Oyen aren’t fans, though — they say the soup is too salty.

Happy Lamb Hot Pot used to be strictly à la carte, but they’ve since changed to a hybrid style.

Now they charge a fixed price per person, with a choice between Classic or Premium. You’ll be asked to select three items from the menu, and the rest of the ingredients are available at the buffet tables. And the choices? Plenty!

If you’re not fond of hot pot, they also offer cooked dishes like Yang Chow fried rice, chow mein, fried chicken, what looks like beef caldereta, crawfish, and even French fries for the kids.

For dessert, aside from soft-serve ice cream and fried sesame balls, there are fresh fruits like strawberries, melon, cantaloupe, watermelon, and bananas — plus eclairs and brownies. Sobra-sobra for one’s cravings and stomach capacity.

I go for the soup, fish ball, bean curd and butchi or sesame seed ball.   My son goes for the fresh mushrooms, beef, lamb, veggies kuno and everything else.

The only thing I don’t like about eating here is we tend to overeat. it’s hard to stop once you start!

I invited Len and Bong to join us for an early dinner. Even at 5:30 PM, we were already number 13 on the waiting list. I didn’t realize it was a big holiday and a weekend, so the place was packed.

We didn’t mind the wait which took about 30 minutes, and while we were waiting, more people kept coming.
