Late Dinner at the Ritz

I woke up at 5 am to catch the 8 am PAL flight to HK. Then hours of bus ride to Mainland China, checking in and out of that tiny hotel somewhere in downtown Guangzhou, moving to the Ritz at 6 pm were just too many activities for a single day. I was dead tired when we reached the Ritz Carlton. I fell asleep as soon as I hit the luxurious down pillows on my bed. Edmund just woke me up because it was past 8 pm and we haven’t had dinner. We ventured outside of the hotel. The downside of staying in a high-end location is it’s far away from the crowd. No small restaurants and shops.

The concierge said there’s a Chinese restaurant nearby. yes we found it , it’s near the Lexus and Bentley car showrooms, but it was too formal and the menu didn’t have an English translation, nor pictures.

We walked back to the hotel and settled in the hotel’s restaurant. They have dinner buffet for RMB 499++ per person or roughly 3,000 ++ pesos per person.

Their food choices looked so good. Normally, the crabs, fresh oysters, and clams cannot escape my appetite. But tonight, I was just toooooo tired to even think of food. Once I sat down, I didn’t want to even move so the thought of getting food from the buffet didn’t settle well with my extremely tired feet.

We settled for a-la-carte. Edmund ordered the Wanton Noodle Soup. It had 3 or 4 pieces of wanton and some slices of pork asado. The noodles are thin.
