Ernie Bower - Oh My Buhay

It was a very good way to cap Philippines, Inc.’s year, a mini-forum dubbed as “Building U.S. partnership with Philippine Business” with no less than Ernie Bower as our guest of honor and speaker was held at Lolo Dad’s Brasserie in Makati.

We were required to wear business attire so I made halukay my cabinet and found this supot from Macy’s. It contained a set of blazer and pants by Tommy Hilfiger. I bought this fron Macy’s in Pleasanton last June.

They were priced separately, There was a sale, I think I was given a 20% discount plus a $20 coupon.

The blazer is more expensive but I was also given a 20% off and I used a $20 coupon, it was a big reduction from the original price.

Ernie is an American but truly cares for our country. He is receipient of the highest Lakandula Award given to foreigners, for his untiring efforts in promoting trade, investments between our country and the United States of America. He only has nice words for our country and he gave a lot of suggestions on how further boost our good relationship with America.

He travels back and forth to many Asian countries and told me he has been to the Philippines more than 150 times.

He flew in all the way from Washington, DC just to spend this dinner with us.

The guest speaker Ernie Bower is flanked by Dindo Manhit, Jun Abella, Tonyboy, Carlson, Tony Tan Caktiong, another Tony,
we actually have 5 tonys in our group.

Lolo Dad’s always impressed the guests every time Philippines, Inc. hosted a luncheon or dinner meeting.

Every guests left with a gift from Tonyboy Cojuangco, a coffe table book published in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Tanghalang Pilipino.

Tonyboy is now a vegetarian but eats fish once or twice a week. He has become so health conscious and the effects are becoming evident. He can now climb up and down the stairs without holding-on to the railings, he has lost a lot of weight, his hair looks healthier and he thinks they are growing back, over-all, he is feeling young and looking young.

Ernie Bower was so gracious, he stood in front for an hour answering questions from the floor.
I expected that our dinner would be over by 8 pm but because people had many questions, it extended way beyond 9 pm.
I no longer waited for it to finish. For the first time, I did a French leave, I left at 8:40 pm. VP Binay was expected to arrive but I didn’t verify with RP if he indeed showed up.
