I was in Megamall on thursday afternoon. I went back on friday evening. In both instances, I got off at the main entrance of SM Department store facing San Miguel Building and passed through the department store’s ground floor where the jewelry display cases are. Julienne’s friend from ICA owns one of the jewelry store’s here, on the ground floor of SM Department Store. The robbery happened on saturday.
This place, although located on the ground floor is in the inner portion of the mall. One would think that with a crowded place like Megamall and which is heavily guarded, it would be a safe place. Criminals have become so bold and daring. Walang kinatatakutan.
According to the news reports, the criminals went first to the ACE Hardware store and bought llave tubo, martillo which they used to break the glass display cases. Dapat pala ngayon, we have to require the hardware sales agent to interrogate first the customers beforeaccepting their payments. “Sir, saan mo gagamitin yan ha? Manghoholdup ka ba? Karpentero ka ba, saan ka natutong gumamit ng llave tubo? tubero ka ba? May I see a copy of your diploma from TESDA? Do you have an SM Advantage card? NBI clearance? PNP waiver allowing you to purchase tools convertible to dangerous weapons.
The gunman daw placed his gun inside his pants, on top of his birdie, kunwari big lang. Yun pala padded with gun and ammunition. So dapat pala ngayon mapagmasid din tayo sa parteng yan. Pag medyo maumbok, we have to take a pro-active stance, “Excuse me, what’s that ha? Why is it bulging? May I see, you could be hiding something there”.
No place is safe anymore. I used to feel secure inside the malls, I would only watch my pockets, my bag and my watch. although after the Glorietta explosion, I no longer feel 100% safe.
What’s happening now is alarming. BPI inside Podium was robbed at 11 am a few weeks ago. The bank is also deep into the mall and all entrances have security checks. Robinson’s Galleria, Alabang Town Center, the convenience stores, the restaurants along main roads, and just tonight, my driver told me the Robinsons Magnolia in Aurora Blvd, Quezon City.
I went to Office Warehouse this afternoon. I became paranoid when I spotted a money changer and some jewelry shops in the mall.
Aside from holdup, robbery, gun-for- hire has become an industry. Eto, a certain Kelvin Tan, only 34 was killed after he withdrew P800,000 from the bank. the criminals were riding in tandem. Binantayan sya. Could it be that someone hired to kill him and not after the money? Who knew that he was going to the bank. Who knew that he withdrew some money?
Makapagrtabaho nga sa SOCO
