Rey Carpio celebrates milestones with a bang. That was before, when he was only a millionaire.
Now that he’s a multi millionaire in dollars and getting to be a billionaire, he doesn’t celebrate his birthday with a bang. But with a big bang, a la James Bond 007.
Based on Grand Monaco’s sales projections, they would hit sales of forty five billion pesos within the next ten years, nakakalula, I could not imagine how Rey would celebrate his 60th birthday party.

Solaire’s security checks
I brought Edmund along to Solaire for Rey’s birthday party.
He was tired and sleepy but he willingly accompanied me.
The theme’s James Bond 007, and we’ve been requested to wear black.
Edmund’s LV necktie is from me. Xmas yata.
I wanted to wear high heels but when I showed him this pair of black sandals with rhinestones, he said mas bagay dahil may borloloy.
I bought these in DSW in Brentwood for $35 plus tax.
Two minutes after we arrived, dinner was served. Edmund said “tyempo!”

One thing I liked about Rey is that his “ugali” never changes. Nung mayaman sya, ganun pa rin sya, ngayung super yaman na sya, ganun parin. His story is one for the movies, kaya showbiz na ang dating nya. His was really a rags to riches story. Magsasaka sya dati sa probinsya. Manny Villar is his idol and I suspect that Rey would eventually run for senator. He’s following in Villar’s footsteps.
Villar helped Rey when he was still starting his construction business by subcontracting some projects to Rey. The rest is history.
