Hotel Rotary Geneve - Oh My Buhay

The PCCI officers, Atty. Varela, Donald Dee, Sergio Ortiz-Luis, etc. regularly went to Geneva at least once a year to attend meetings. They brought along their respective spouses. After Edmund and I have decided that we would make a side trip to Geneva, Mike and Serge were the first ones that came to mind. I was going to ask them where they always stayed. One morning, I called-up Serge and his wife Margie, asked questions about restaurants, train station, and what their favorite hotel was. Marge said they always stayed at Nash Ville Hotel. Mike had already made friends with the owner due to they’re being regular customers. She said it’s near the shopping area and at the end of the street was a Chinese restaurant.

I Googled its location and it looked okay plus it’s only two blocks away from the train station. I booked two nights thru www.booking.com.
A few days before we left Manila, my daughter checked the reviews and the location of Nash Ville. According to the reviews, it’s located in a red light district, and that at night, one could here some oohhs and ahhhs. I phoned Serge and told him that I found out that the Nash Ville hotel’s in a red light district. He said it’s safe and the location was okay. He said at night, they noticed some prostitutes standing at the corner but they were not bothered.

When I told my daughter what Mr. Ortiz-Luis said, she immediately cancelled my two nights booking at Nash Ville, and looked for a hotel with a better rating and closer to the lake and high end shopping.

Here’s the hotel where we stayed in for two nights in Geneva, Hotel Rotary.

There were four stars at their entrance.

The decor looked old. Edmund read somewhere that the antique furniture were personal collections of the owners.

Our room was on the top floor, tila attic kasi the window’s slanted.

It had a loft, where our bed was.

803

If it were newer, it would look cute. But it’s okay, it’s comfortable and the bathroom had all the amenities we needed and wanted.
It even had a built in pantry and mini bar.

The bed was very comfortable.

The separate sleeping quarters on the loft was ideal for Edmund and I because he would wake up in the middle of the night and watch tv. While he watched on the ground floor, I could sleep uninterruptedly.

828

There was also a tv in the bedroom.

The only drawback was the high stairs. Nakakatakot kasi the wood was two-toned. I could make a misstep.

Over all, the Hotel Rotary was a good choice. It had friendly and efficient staff. They spoke English and very professional.
The location was perfect for us. A short block from Starbucks, 10 meters from a Chinese fast food, a 5 minute walk to Geneva lake, 10 minute walk to the shopping area, and about 4 blocks to the train station.
