Nothing dampens Halloween in America. Not even the rain. It’s been raining and gloomy today. So cold too.

I sadly removed my cute trick or treat sign I bought a month ago supposedly for our house in Manila.
I didn’t have candies to give away.
I spoke to Aileen and she too hasn’t bought goodies.

Ever since this neighbor placed a coffin in his front yard,  Edmund and I have been speculating what he’s going to do next.    A few days ago,  we saw him outside,  testing a giant inflatable complete with moving hands.   We were like “Whoa,  he’s really at it”.

Edmund said we’re going to his house on Halloween to see what his gimmick would be.

We’re very curious.  We like his sense of humor and commitment to entertain the kids and adults in the neighborhood.

Here comes the day.

He was set up early gladly giving away candies at his doorstep.
His only request was to keep off his grass.

He told me the coffin belonged to his father (dead). And that his father didn’t say anything when they took it. I asked where he keeps this, in their kitchen daw. AT least not in their bedroom.

I like his sense of humor.

We drove around the block and found similarly decorated homes with dragons spewing smoke, blinking giants, spooky witches. One house had blasting Latin music. I could tell they’re Mexicans.

Happy Halloween.
