Hearing but not listening

We are hearing but not listening. We could hear what others are saying but we’re not actually listening because our minds are wandering.

1. Me———-“Magprito ka ng apat”.
Maid——–“Gusto mo mam tatlo?”
Me———-“Apat kasi maliit lang ang hiwa”.
Maid——–“Dalawahin ko mam”.

2. Me———-“Isara mo yang pinto”.
Driver——:Nakabukas na mam”.

3. Me———-“Sabihin mo ang ilagay sa resibo ay Makati Ford”.
Driver——-“Pre, yung resibo ilagay mo sa Ford EDSA”.

4. Waitress—–“Mam, coffee?”
Me———–“No thank you”.
Waitress—–“Mag coffee ka na mam”.
Me———–“Thank you but I don’t drink coffee”.
Me————“Sige na mam, masarap coffee namin”.

5. Food attendant——“Anong gusto nyong drinks?”
Me———-“Sprite na lang”.
Food attendant——“One ice tea”.
Me———-“Miss, sprite, hindi ako umiinom ng iced tea”.
Food attendant——“Gusto nyong palitan yung iced tea?”

6. Me——-“Miss, meron ka bang medium, puro large ito”.
Sales lady——-“Eto ang mga large”.
Me——–“Medium”
Sales lady ——“Isa na lang ang small”.

7. Me———“pagdating sa gate, kumanan ka tapos unang kanto kaliwa”.
Driver——“kaliwa mam sa gate, tapos diretso?”

8. Me———“Magtanong ka dyan, saan yung post office”.
Driver——“‘pre, pwedeng magtanong? San yung force o pip”.
Me———-“Post office, yung hulugan ng sulat”.
Driver——“Porst, ports…”
Me———-“Central Post Office”.
Driver——“Contra ports office”.

9. Me——–“Miss, take out ng karekare”.
Cashier—“One karekare, ano pa mam?”
Me———“Yun lang”.
Cashier—-“Sinigang na tyan ng bangus?”
Me———“karekare lang, thank you”.
Cashier—-“Mam, masarap ang beef ampalaya namin”.
Me———:Miss, pwedeng paki order na yung karekare kasi nagmamadali ako”.
Cashier—–“Karekare lang mam?”

10. Me———“Hi, I’m trying to turn on the cable tv…..”
Operator—“Good evening Ms. Tan-Yee, I will send the engineer”.
Me———-“Just tell me which button to press”.
Operator—-“He will be there in 10 minutes”.
Me———-“Hello operator, no need to send someone over, just tell me which button to press”.
Operator—–“Paki intay na lang sya mam”.

11. Me——–“Waiter, one hot chocolate”.
Waiter—-“Coffee mam?”

12. Me——–“Ay, naiwan ko yung celphone ko. Bumalik ka”.
Driver —-“Sino mam?”

Agent——–“Ms. Annie, meron pong beautiful houses overlooking po ng Metro Manila”.
Me———–“Thank you pero hindi ko kailangan, hindi ko magagamit”.
Agent ——-“Maganda po yung mga bahay, pwede nyong gawing bakasyunan”.
Me———–“Hindi ko kasi mapupuntahan, masasayang lang”.
Agent——–“Sige na, bumili na kayo, kahit isa lang”.
Me———–“Meron bang lote lang?”
Agent———“House and Lot lang ho, maganda may view”.
Me———–“Ilan ang sukat ng lote at bahay?”
Agent———“Malaki ho yung lote, 100 square meters at yung bahay ay 70 sq meters, malaki”.
Me———–“Wala kasing titira, masasayang lang, pasensya na”.
Agent——–“Ms. Annie ikaw na lang ang tumira”.
Me———–“Sorry, hindi tugma. Hindi ako bibili. Thank you”.
Agent——–“Ms. Annie, gusto mo magbenta ka rin, hati tayo sa commission”.
Me———–“Thank you ha, pero sorry, I cannot help you sell”.
Agent——–“Sige na Ms. Annie, may free trip to Hongkong, makaka-punta ka sa Hongkong”.
