Gary’s Place: A place of tranquility

February 21, 2019
It was a good day to visit Gary’s Place although it was too windy.
One of the country’s top architects, owner Ed Ledesma created a beautiful sanctuary in his hacienda not just for his family but is now generously sharing the experience with strangers like us.

Looking at the mangroves and trees, the owner’s love for nature screams at me. I haven’t met him yet but I like him already. If I have a property this big, it would surely look a bit like this. This is the kind of legacy a parent would want to leave behind to his family. But most kids nowadays prefer to stay in bustling cities with zero maintenance worries.
This enclave is a total commitment— to the preservation of nature.

He named it after his only son and second of his 6 children, Gary, who died from a motorcycle accident. He was hit by a truck while on his way to the hacienda.  Very sad.

I’d like to go back to Bacolod in the near future but I don’t know when I can find a chance. Maybe before the year ends or in February again. I will surely include a gourmet lunch here at Punong Gary’s Place. It’s worth my while.
