Standard’s Anniversary

We were invited to the grand celebration of Standard Insurance’s 53 years in business.  I really did not want to attend because the rain was incessant and I was so afraid to get stranded.

I went, still, by myself, wearing a simple floral dress.
The party was held at the NBC Tent at the Fort.

One thing I hated about affairs like this was the grand entrance.  As I have feared,  all the top officers were waiting for the guests at the entrance.  As soon as I stepped-in,  cameras started clicking.  I felt like Nicole Kidman  (baka Nicolasa Kundi-man) at the Oscars,  being chased by paparazzi.

Due to his height advantage,  Union Bank’s Chairman and CEO towered above all that’s why I instantly saw him.

I forgot to get her number. This would be very good when I am having insomnia.

Not much food choices. Most of the trays were empty when I arrived. I saw a waiter with a trayful of what looked like pizza. I grabbed a slice. It was so spicy. I couged and coughed.

People fought for their spot infront of the boiled lechon. It was delicious but the waiters were kuripot. They were only giving so little. I hated that. VIP Guests were like pulubi waiting for food.

The  urn and pedestal were almost on fire and no one bothered to call the attention of the waiter.

Standard Insurance prepared well for this event. Unfortunately I left when the concert was just starting. I was bothered by the loud thunderstorm and pouring rain. I didn’t see Gary Valenciano perform.

Congratulations to Standard Insurance and thank you for inviting me.
