Many days I feel I don’t make use of my time well. Today is one of those days when I feel I am making use of every second of it. It’s a day being spent very productively.
I arrived at 7:30 am at the Austin Hall North, Harvard Law School Campus in Massachusetts Avenue. It’s only 5:30 in the morning in Cali. I am hoping not to feel sleepy before 10 am.

There’s food at both ends of the expansive hallway.

I grabbed a piece of egg cake. I am not sure what this is. Is this called quiche?

I chose a seat on the last row. The same seat I picked the day before when I came here with my sister to do advance reconnaissance.

A woman came claiming my seat. I didn’t notice the seat assignments that were typed at the back of my name plate.

#23 pala ako. I like to sit on the last row, this is the very first row. How ironic.

seat

Sitting at #22 is a vice president of a construction firm in Rhode Island and to my right, at #24 is an attorney, a chief prosecutor from Chicago.

Our professor this morning is no less than Bruce Patton. My seat mate told me Prof. Patton’s book sold 60 million copies. A—-“I don’t think he sold 60 million copies, that’s a lot. That’s more than Harry Potter books, more like the albums sold by Michael Jackson”. Seatmate—“oh maybe not 60 million”. A—-“Maybe 6 or 8 million”.

The class started at 8:30 am. I made sure all my senses are functioning and alert so I can absorb every single word our professor says. Kailangan gising na gising ako. I am the second person to recite. Naunahan lang ako nung isang guy. Wow ha, alert na alert talaga. At 9:30 am, I started yawning. Konti lang naman. 9:45 am OMG duling na duling na ako sa antok. It’s not even 10 am eh antok na antok na ako. For about three and a half seconds I doubted my decision of coming here. Baka makatulog ako sayang ang tuition fee. Bawal mag-absent or mag-cutting classes.

To be continued.
