I was away for two weeks and needless to say, I never missed Manila’s congested roads. Here we go again, on my first day of work.

Manila''s congested roads

My daughter and I met with a British expat somewhere in Polaris Street. Our meeting ended at past noon so daughter and I grabbed lunch at a nearby restaurant, Alba. This traditional Spanish restaurant has been around since 1952.

I didn’t expect to have buffet. But that’s what we did, have buffet.

We went over their a la carte menu but we got overwhelmed which ones to choose.

Tortilla de Espanola (traditional Spanish omelet)

I did not wish for this Cochinillo but the waiter brought this plate of tender oven-roasted suckling pig to our table.

Jumped to the dessert, Canonigo

The canonigo was good, not extraordinarily sweet but of course it’s still sweet.
