San Francisco celebrated its 2nd Annual Tulip Day on March 7, 2020. A colorful tulip garden with 100,0000 flowers decorated Union Square for this occasion. These flowers were produced from Dutch tulip bulbs that were planted in America. The bulbs were given free to the public as a symbol of early spring and goodwill from the Dutch tulip exporters.
Oyen and Derrick were fortunately in Union Square on that day and were able to get two free bunches of tulips.
The flowers were already wilting and bending but after Edmund had planted the tulip bulbs they sprang back to life, stood straight and looked happy.
They’re alive!
Edmund also bought these flowers when he went to buy garden soil from Lowe’s.
The color is so vibrant it cheers me up by mere looking at them.
