I was absolutely ecstatic when I discovered that inside Benicia’s old tannery building are quaint antique shops. I totally didn’t expect it. I thought they only have a coffee shop or a bar.
I drove to Benicia with Lyn as my navigator.
Half of the stores were closed already when we arrived.
it’s a good thing that Lyn and I share the same passion for things that have historical value.
I liked this one but I didn’t want to pay $35 plus tax. I touched it twice but I decided I would stick to my budget. Kuripot ako nung araw na yun.
I struck a conversation with one of the customers. I noticed that the two of us were liking the same things. We became instant friends. She’s Mallorie Wiggins from Oakland. She showed us photos of her house, her tea sets, her living room, the two cabinets her husband made to keep her growing collection of porcelain wares. She regularly hosts tea parties at her lovely home.
Touch only, no buying. I have enough plates already. But wait, I have been away for so long I am not even sure if my plates at home are still in tact. I might be losing several already. While I am away, the maids left, then new ones came, then old ones came back. Tsk tsk tsk. I hope they didn’t bring along my plates for souvenirs. Sigh.
