On May 17 at 9 am, I had a close encounter with ARNEL PINEDA. While I was checking in at the Virgin America counter at the San Francisco airport, I heard a familiar voice. He said they were missing one luggage. I looked to my left where the voice was coming from and there at the next check-in counter was Arnel. They looked worried because they left one of their luggages in the hotel. It contained their son’s clothes and supplies.
Arnel’s so accommodating, humble and low key. We had a short but nice conversation. He said they’re flying to Florida for the JOURNEY concert. Then off they go to London for the start of their European tour. Then back to the US for a series of concerts. He was with his pretty wife, 6-year old son, Yul his Filipino assistant from Las Vegas,and with Rob (I hope I remember their names right,) his assistant assigned to him by Journey. I also met his a’te Emma, Arnel’s close friend and coordinator in the Bay Area.
