Back to Athens, Dubai, Manila

We have several hours still before the Emirates check-in counter opens. Edmund leaves our big luggage at the baggage storage counter for a small fee.

I don’t want to go to the lounge so we just eat here beside Starbucks. I am having chicken yakitori and fried rice.

Emmy Dy lost their small luggage on the flight from Santorini. Our female Athens tour guide resurfaces here at the airport and is now helping Emmy locate the bag.
In the meantime, her husband Sonny, brother in law Gary and his wife Irene, plus mother and daughter Lulu and Kathlynn, join us at the table. The topic swerves to failed marriages and tips on how to survive your marriage. My husband sounds like a marriage guru. Gary is saying that expectations must be lowered. My husband says that it is a daily struggle and for him, pwede kahit hindi mag-asawa.

After that impromptu marriage encounter seminar, we went to buy some Olive shampoo, baklava which turned out to be not good, etc.

There are at a lot of very tall and slim guys at the airport. The tsismosa me, I will ask one of them if they are basketball players. Yes daw. They participated in a tournament here in Athens and now they are going back to their home country— Turkey.

As much as possible, travel light. You’ll never know, there’ll be stairs, long walks, shuttle buses.

The coolest thing about Emirates is some of their planes have a bar on board that serves both the first and business class sections. Drinks and snacks are limitless.

There were at least 4 or 5 hours layover in Dubai. My husband freshened up while I just sat down and played Toy Blast. Although I have extra clothes in my carry on luggage I felt lazy to change. The flight from Dubai to Manila was another 9 hours. Kakainip din. I watched a few movies.
