Balaw-balaw restaurant in Angono, Rizal didn’t change a bit since the last time I came here some 14 years ago. I brought along a friend who was an acquaintance of the late Perdigon Vocalan, the artist-owner of Ang Nuno Gallery and Balaw-balaw.
I bought a small painting done by an artist from Morong Rizal.
A giant papier mache called Higante greeted visitors at the entrance.
You may purchase or order Higante’s from enterprising locals located along the highway and around town. These are paraded during Angono‘s annual fiesta every 3rd week of November which is also the feast of San Clemente.

Angono also celebrates the Carabao Festival in May which is the feast of San Isidro, the patron saint of farmers.
I was just around the area actually and hungry so I thought of trying my luck if they have Pinangat na Dalag with Itlog.
Unfortunately, even the biggest dalag didn’t have itlog.
