May 27, 2018 Sunday
Our reunion ended at 5:30 pm to give us time to freshen up and get dressed. Most went back to their respective hotels before heading to Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse for my birthday dinner blow-out. The celebrant / host was late because I had to clean up and do the dishes, hahaha, no house helpers in America. I actually arranged to have two Latinas come over to our venue on May 26 and 27 to help me set-up and clean-up. With Edmund, Len, Bong, Eves, Dimple, and Angie around, there was no more necessity for me to hire two maids for the party.
My nephew Doick and sons Kiefer and Mason checked out of the hotel earlier and decided to skip the dinner, They left Vegas that evening so they could break their 12 hour journey into two parts. A four hour drive to Bakersfield, overnight there, then another 9 hours drive to their home. They were in a hurry to get home because the two boys have a school exam on May 29. My nephew Randy sprained his ankle while getting off his car to go back to the hotel. It was painful and swollen so he missed the dinner too.
There were 37 of us plus two kids and one toddler who kept himself busy eating French fries.
I felt so relaxed just sitting down. I was too lazy to go to the buffet plus I was not hungry yet from all the yangchao fried rice, halo-halo and crispy noodles I ate for lunch.
Among all the photos taken that night , this was my favorite. My wrinkles couldn’t be seen.
Natutuwa naman ako sa batang ito. Hindi na pala sya bata, he’s an attorney. After he saw me got the bill, he came up to me and asked how much I paid per person. He asked “auntie, do you need money?” He took out his wallet and tried to give me two hundred dollars. Share daw nya sa dinner. He looked bewildered when I didn’t accept it. “You’re crazy” sabi sa akin. Then he told Edmund “you guys are crazy”.
