I slept up to 2 pm on my birthday! I just forced myself to get out of bed otherwise the day would pass without me knowing why.

I took a shower, got dressed and went to the garden. Syempre kahit mukhang bagong gising at meron pang patung-patong na jet-lag, gusto ko may pictures ako on my birthday.

Bumili pa ako ng red blouse ha to wear on my birthday, wala namang party. I wanted to eat oysters and ride a boat but I was tired. I just wanted to have a quiet day.

These roses are the loveliest and they are huge. Mere looking at them makes me smile already. They are God’s gift to me.

Birthday photos , pink orange flowersAfter the photo ops,  we drove to the adoration chapel behind the church.  Both were locked.  We went to the parish office and I found a Vietnamese priest.  He gave us the door code so we could enter the chapel.  He said there were many street people around and one time they entered the chapel, played with the candles and almost burned down the place.  So from then on,  the parish priest interviews first any person or parishioner who wants to get the code to unlock the door.

Happy birthday to me. On my birthday, I am full of gratefulness for everything that God has given me and my family. He is patient and forgiving of my many mistakes and missteps. He rescues me when I am in trouble. He lets me be and gives me a lot of elbow room to grow (old) as a person. He allows me to do the things I want to do. He blessed me with things far and beyond what I wished for. My life is not perfect. It comes with tremendous amounts of stresses, that doesn’t seem to stop coming. But I am glad that there HE is, God, who I can hold on to when the going gets tough and when I feel like tumbling down.
Birthdays are big blessings. Whether with parties, cakes, balloons, pancit palabok, or NON at all, it’s time to celebrate, be happy, and thankful.
